Easter is almost here!

We all know what that means- Easter baskets, big Reese’s peanut butter eggs, and those nasty marshmallow birds that I eat because I am bored while waiting for the ham-nap to kick in.

Time is going by so fast. It was only last month that we celebrated chocolate and roses. Of course, we celebrated presents, new sweaters, and summer sausage gift boxes in December. The December celebration came almost before I could digest the food from the turkey and dressing party that takes place every November.

I have a long history of missing the point. I am guilty of getting swept up by the benefits and ignoring the reason. My parents did their best to point out why we celebrated different holidays but I never really listened.

I guess as I get older, things slow down, and it’s easier to see things for what they are and what they are intended to be. I think it helps to see my reflection through the actions of my children and I begin to focus on what I want (and don’t want) for them. Maybe, I have no choice but to focus on the reason for the celebration because I don’t have as many people buying me stuff. Either way, I am glad to have at least a little clearer picture of what is going on.

I hope you enjoy your Easter. I hope I will celebrate it for what it is and not what I can get out of it.

Peace, Love, and all things Beef related,
