I got sober out of necessity, which was both difficult and rewarding. I couldn’t have gotten so into the gym without my sobriety but it was a surgeon telling me to lose weight that got me in there. I’m transgender and I needed to be the right bmi to qualify for surgery. After a year and a half of hard work, I was able to get the surgery. Before this my only goal was getting this procedure, but in the process, I fell completely in love with fitness, and am now impatient to recover and get back at it!
