Friday Wrap Up! | Lift Heavy Run Long

First, this morning… Crossfit Games Open WOD 12.1. revisited.  As many burpees as possible in 7 minutes.  Doesn’t sound too bad, but it’s awful.  Got 91 burpees back in February.  This morning, only 86.  I admit that I didn’t try as hard this morning as I did back in February.  I’m suppose to run 16 miles in the morning so I didn’t want to completely destroy myself.  I enjoyed revisiting all these workouts this week and seeing my progress.  Overall I feel pretty good about it.  Marathon in 3 weeks!!

Now to catch up with everyone around the web…

First, I LOVE reading race reports.  This race report from Becky is probably one of the best ones I’ve read.  Go check it out.  I think it’s really cool that she was a pacer.  I’d really like to do that one day.  Especially for a race like St. Jude. That had to have been an incredible experience.

I came across a couple of other interesting blogs to follow this week and added them to the links over there —–>.  First is Grizzly Strong.  I came across that site over on the Crossfit subreddit (/r/crossfit).  If you aren’t up on reddit, then get on over there and check that out.  You’re missing the entire internet.  Anyway, go check out Grizzly Strong.  Another blog I found from incoming links to LHRL is The Marzipan Incident.  So go check that dude out too.

As always, don’t forget to check out Chris’ latest post, High and Low.  Chris is such a great writer.  It really doesn’t matter what he writes about, I would enjoy  reading it.

And last but not least (of course) do not forget to check out the latest barbell shrugged featuring the Rich Froning, Jr.  This is a great episode!  Almost as good as the one I was on, EPISODE 23!   Check out the video below, and be sure to go by the Fitr.TV website and let them know what you think about it.  Feedback is key, and this is a great podcast that I really want to see get huge.

I hope everyone has a great weekend.  More Christmas parties ahead for me…  I’m going to try not to do too much damage.  Marathon.  3 Weeks.  Marathon.  3 Weeks!! 🙂
