I’m not working tomorrow.  We’re taking a quick weekend trip to Chattanooga, TN for some family fun.  This just means that I’ve got a lot of work to wrap up today so I better get this entry over with!  I’m still feeling a little under the weather, but much better than Monday.  I slept way better last night than I have all week so that helped make for a decent day in the gym.

I’m still not back on my program yet, but in the regular Crossfit classes I’m still getting stronger every week.  This morning we started with finding a 5 Rep Max Front Squat.  My last 3 Rep max was 225, so I was anxious to see how close to that I could get with a set of 5.  I was very happy that I worked up to 205 lbs.  I may have been able to get 210, but 205 was really hard and I was a bit light headed so I stopped there.  If you remember, back in April I had been training at a different gym.  Well, back then I was back squatting 205 for a 5 Rep Max.  So being able to ge 205 on a Front Squat shows some real progress.  That’s VERY encouraging.

On to today’s WOD:

A couple of guys scaled up to 135, but 115 felt right for me this morning.  I just barely got in 7 rounds.  I finished the last burpee with 2 seconds left.  That was a tough little WOD.  I was on the ground afterwards as it took a lot out of me.

That’s it for today.  Don’t forget to check out the latest Barbell Shrugged podcast with topics like  MMA, Injuries, Jiu-Jitsu, etc.:
