In 2011 my brother (a running fanatic) signed me up for my first ever race, the Rome Marathon. I entered having never run more than 10miles but doing lots of strength training in the gym – my training wasn’t great but i finished and it made me think if I could get a more structured training program there is huge potential. In 2012 I came across CrossFit. My local box were doing an outdoor WOD after a 10km trail race that i’d entered, so straight after the race i gave it a go and the simplicity of 30 GTOH’s destroyed me, i was a broken man and I needed to find out more about this type of training. Fast forward 8months and my lifting has dramatically improved, I’m eating better and my running has gone from strength to strength. Currently training for my first ultra later this year with my first 100km trail race in August through the french alps.
