In the Fall of 2016, I found out I was going to be a father for the first time. I was out of breath with normal day to day activities and seemed to always be low on energy. I had a lot of aches and pains, too. Primarily in my back. While at the doctor one time, my cholesterol and triglycerides came back off the charts. I knew it was time for a change. I was nearly 300 pounds. I decided then I had to get “healthy.” I wanted it for myself but mostly for my new chairs and wife to be a better father and husband. I set a goal of 20 pounds, then 40, then 50, then I said to myself why not 60? You get the idea. I finally ended up wanting to lose 100 pounds and that’s just what I did! All natural, no surgery, no medicine, no quick schemes. I actually started running competitively again, something I hadn’t done in years since college. I have now begun to place in local 5k races. I’m training  for a 1/2 marathon in December 2017. My goal now is to maintain. I feel great and my health has improved tremendously!
