It is hard to tell what has the most value- the car or the key fob.
My friend had some work done on his car. He has a really nice ride, I can’t even guess how much it costs. The people performing the work on his car lost his key fob, leaving him with basically nothing but a good-looking hunk of metal. It’s hard to believe that something so expensive can be so worthless when missing such a small component.
I like to think I am a pretty spiritual guy. I believe in God and I try to express gratitude in my daily life. I feel like being aware of and reliant on a higher power is what helps to drive me and keep me safe. I think it’s safe to say that God is the keyfob which powers my body….and my body is a 350horsepowered machine which fuels itself on ego. Misplacing or ignoring my faith in God is a great way for to see just how valuable I am without the help of something to get me started. It is a necessary and vital connection.
It’s easy for me to forget that when I try to run the show without faith or a reliance on God, things don’t usually work out so good. A friend of mine likes to say, “Anything that runs on its own power runs downhill.”
So, when things aren’t going in the direction I want them to go and my life is not going in the direction I am trying to steer it, I need to ask myself if I even have the keys to what makes my vehicle run.
At the end of the day, without the keyfob the vehicle is worthless.
