Lions don’t tell themselves to “Be a lion.” They are lions. They are naturally stripped of insecurity, fear, self-doubt, and timidity.
I wonder why humans don’t try to be more human. We are the most self-aware creatures on the planet that focus on being anything other than ourselves.
It is said that when Michaelangelo was asked about creating the Statue of David he responded, “I didn’t create the statue of David. I simply took away everything that wasn’t David and David appeared.”
That’s a pretty profound statement.
I wonder what would happen to me if I stripped away everything that I pretend to be and just showed the world what I really was. Lions do it all the time, and they seem to do ok.
