The price of picture frames is outrageous.

Or, maybe it’s not.

I guess it depends on what you are putting in the frame.

Amanda and I have a lot of pictures that we plan to hang throughout the hallway in our home. When we look at how much money can potentially be spent, just on frames alone, it can be enough to make you light-headed.

This weekend, Amanda and I woke up at 1:45a.m., had Brian and Sean at our house by 2:30a.m., and we began our drive to run a half-marathon which started at 5:00am. It was  kinda crazy, a little stupid, and a lot of fun. It was a great experience and made for a better memory.

The race was awful. I essentially stepped on my tits and farted for 13.1 miles, but I didn’t come to race- I came for the comradery. This was a memory, an experience I’m fortunate to have had. It is worth something to me. It has real value.

You can’t put a price on an experience or the memories that come with it. It is hard to name a value for a picture that captures the memory. And, it makes it difficult to put a price on the picture frame that holds it.

How do you put a price on something that houses priceless memories?

I think picture frames are a lot like underwear and baby strollers- they can be awfully damn expensive until you think about what they are carrying.
