How much praise is too much?

Is there a limit to appreciation and the amount of compliments that you pay?

I don’t think so.

I believe if I am complimenting something praise-worthy, it is wonderful and necessary. If I am complimenting something ,just to have something to say, or because I believe it is what the other party wants to hear, I am being insincere and bogus.

Some folks hold their praise for more significant events and some people are more quick to  compliment. I don’t think that one is better or worse than the other, but I don’t think it is ever “wrong” to verbalize appreciation or encouragement, provided it is authentic.

People need praise, and I have a need to feel useful. Sometimes paying a compliment to a job well-performed is the only way I know how to be of any help in society.

I need to remember that how someone interprets my praise is none of my business. After I provide my encouragement and some positive reinforcement, the praise no longer belongs to me. People have an entire lifetime of experiences that determine how they interpret and process appreciation.

I don’t think there is such thing as too much appreciation and encouragement.
