Mood & Reflections: Positive and hopeful are great words to describe how I’m feeling today. About 5 weeks ago I got broken. Broken in a way that I have never experienced before. While I was running this morning it became clear to me that because of this experience I am seeing my world through a very different lens. I am seeing character flaws and plot holes in a way that I have never been able to see before. There are examples of this almost everywhere I look. Physical examples as well as mental examples. There are simple things like barely being able to touch my toes without bending my knees. Why haven’t I ever addressed this before? Then there are a little bit more complex things like why can’t I keep my garage clean and my yard mowed consistently? Then things start to get really scary and even more complex. I start looking at relationships and behaviors that I never paid attention to before. Patterns and routines that are bad for me that I keep letting myself fall back into.  Thankfully I am able to recognize all of this and I know that all it takes to fix anything I don’t like are small little changes every day. Expose the weaknesses and correct them. You have no idea how grateful I am to have this time to heal and work on these kinds of things. Sounds pretty hokey, right? Hell yeah, I love it. Welcome to the new season!

Training: I started my morning with ROMWOD. They have daily programming you can subscribe to and you can choose to do the long version or the short version. The short version fits in well with a morning run or workout so I think I’ll stick with that for now. After doing the long version a couple of times I found myself a little too sore the next day. After ROMWOD I went outside for a workout. Honestly, I am just making this stuff up on the fly. Whatever I feel like I’m up to, I will try it. Today I decided on a 20 minute run for distance stopping every 2 minutes to do 10 air squats. I was just short of 2 miles. But, hey, 100 squats! I was surprised at how hard that was. I don’t think it was too much, but it was definitely enough. Much harder than I expected them to be.

That’s it for today. If you have any questions or suggestions or random thoughts please leave them in the comments or hit me up on twitter or instagram or something. Have a rad day.
