I have been pretty excited about the response to the 6 and 4 Week Programs that I recently put out there.  I would love to hear from you if you are following one of the programs to see how you like it and how I could make them better.

One thing everyone runs into when training on their own is technique.  I know I often find myself wondering exactly what a certain movement is, wondering if I’m running correctly or if I am performing that Bulgarian Split Squat the right way.  I have a couple of great resources that I always go to when I need technique help, and I want to share those with you.

First up is TechniqueWoD from the Barbell Shrugged crew.  Full disclosure, I do work on the Barbell Shrugged team, but there is no denying that this is one of the best technique resources out there.  Whether you want to build a better butt, win a bar fight, or learn how to do bent rows.  This is the place to go.  You can always just go to the Barbell Shrugged website and browse through the content, but what I do is just hit google and do a quick search for TechniqueWod + The Movement I’m looking for.  It’s usually the first result.  See here:  https://www.google.com/?gws_rd=ssl#q=techniquewod+snatch.  So, if you ever find yourself looking at a workout and wondering what a particular movement is or wondering how to get better at a particular movement then Technique WoD is the place to go.

What about running and running technique?  There are a couple of people you need to be following on Social Media for all things running technique related.  Obviously you need to be following me at @liftrunlong and @vonralls on twitter, but there are a couple of other really great resources out there that you can use to help you be a better runner.  First is Valerie Hunt.  She is with CrossFit Endurance, Athlete Cell, and she also has a company called RunATX that is based out of Austin, TX.  She puts out a TON of content/videos on that page on a regular basis.  You can check it out here:  https://www.facebook.com/runatx?fref=ts.  You can also find her at @valerierunatx on Twitter.  You should also follow @ProjectEndr@iamunscared and @CFEndurance.  Lots of great content from some awesome running/endurance coaches out there on Twitter and Facebook.  I’m hoping to start putting out some videos myself very soon.  Stay tuned.

The CrossFit Journal is something that I haven’t heard a lot of people talk about in a long time.  There is a wealth of information there.  A lot of it is free, but the $30-ish yearly subscription is totally worth it.  There is even a whole section on Running here:  http://journal.crossfit.com/running/.

So there you go.  A few quick resources you can use to gain some knowledge and get better at Lifting Heavy and Running Long!  If you have some other great resources you can share, please let me know.  Comment in the box below or hit me up on twitter at @liftrunlong or on the Lift Heavy Run Long Facebook page.
