Don’t succumb to the force.

Don’t get on that bandwagon.

Just don’t.

For some folks, 2016 was a crappy year. Things did not go their way, and life did not go the way that they had envisioned. This happens sometimes (it happens lots of times.)

For many other folks, 2016 just happened, and while they were sitting back watching it go by, they read about how crappy it was for other people. When we read about crappy things, along with our natural born desire to be accepted, we go looking for crappy things. We carry our list of crappy along with us and are ready to pull it out, at a moments notice, as if it were identification. Our crap list is how we get into Club Crappy.

The truth is that most of us have been so unaffected by life, because of a willingness to sit stagnant, and an unwillingness to actively work for a better life, that we have resorted to going on the dark quest for dissatisfaction in order to be a part of the seemingly popular movement.

Who decided that 2016 was so bad?

Really?

An entire year of your life was “bad”?

You sat there and allowed an entire year, 365 days, to go by and feel cheated?

I’m not talking about the sudden downsizes, loss of employment, dogs, or family members. I am not speaking of heart wrenching information that involves health scares, and loved ones in pain. This is all very real, and bad years are very real. However, what I am speaking of is the searching out of negativity and the compilation of crappy things that we put together in order to write a scripted sales pitch so that we can have people believe that 2016 was a bad year. It’s a herd mentality. Everyone piles on.

I hate that celebrities die. I really, really do.

You wanna know who else dies?

All of us.

We all die.

This includes you.

If you are using the death of a person, whom you have never hugged before, as a selling point for having a bad period of time in your life, you need to hug more people, and quit working so hard to be unhappy.

So, while I understand that it hurts to lose a part of your childhood, let’s not act like that these A-list celebrities won’t be home for the holidays next year, as as if they have been in the past.

While I understand that the Presidential election was not the outcome that you desired, let’s not blackball an entire year because of a President-elect who has not even made a decision which could, in any way, affect our lives, as of yet.

Lots of good things are happening, every single day.

Let’s jump on the bandwagon of positivity and assume that good things are happening, and are going to continue happenning. I would rather die under the delusion of prosperity than live in the falsehood of demise.

Have some fun today.
