Mood/Reflections/Rambling:  I got to be around a lot of people today at the gym. Normally I don’t like being around a lot of people, but many times at the gym a lot of people will show up to workout and it gets me fired up to coach the class. Today was one of those days. Yes, I know you should be fired up to coach the class every day, but some days are just extra inspiring. What I saw today was really what CrossFit is about and what I love about CrossFit. People having their first or second experience at a CrossFit gym, people and coaches from other CrossFit gyms all working out together. So much fun. Today was what I have always loved about CrossFit and what I have always wanted my gym to be. Here’s a little glimpse into this morning:

This put me in a really good mood for the rest of the day. Here’s a pic of me and a couple of friends who came by:

Training: I did a little skateboarding today (as seen in the featured image of this post). I LOVE skateboarding. I could write a whole book about it, but really just rolling around on the board makes me feel peaceful and happy. So I was happy to get back on the board and roll around at the gym this morning. Ready to hit a park now.

After that I did about 20 minutes of ROMWOD, and then coached the 9am class. When I got home I went for a run. 4 miles at an 8:45 pace.

WHAT?! I’m so stoked about this. I still can’t do any barbell movements that need my shoulder strength, but I’m super stoked to be running at this pace for even 4 miles. Things are going SO well!

I hope you are having a great weekend as well, and I hope you are doing awesome stuff. If you are, shoot me an email at von@liftheavyrunlong.com or hit me up on social media and let me know what you are doing. I want to know.
