“In the eyes of a hammer, everything’s a nail”
Yesterday I did some pressure washing at the properties I maintain. I don’t pressure wash often but I needed to clean up a couple of areas where dirt had collected along the curb. What I thought would be about 20 minutes of pressure washing quickly turned into 8 hours.
I didn’t realize that there were so many things that needed pressure washing until I decided to equip myself with a pressure washer.
Just the other day I was doing some computer work. My browser was slow to refresh, my password needed to be reset, the phone rang and my children bombarded with questions as I tried to finish what I started. I became angry.
I walked past the laundry room and noticed that there was laundry that the kids needed to fold, there was trash that needed to be taken out, and there were dishes that needed to be done.
I didn’t realize that there were so many things to be angry about until I decided to equip myself with anger.
Whatever I place into my conscience finds places to grow and expand. Whatever I am feeling becomes what I see. If I think about laundry, I will find clothes that need folding; If I think about fertilizer, I will see grass that needs attention; If I think about problems, I will find adversity; If I think about gratitude, I will discover how good things really are.
It’s really up to me.
