Mood/Reflections: I want to make a note that I really let some negativity slip into my attitude yesterday. Just for a minute though. It’s all good. I’ve been listening to a podcast called Lionheart Radio a lot lately. On a recent episode he made the statement “feed the good wolf and be Stevie Wonder to the bullshit.” This has been going through my mind for several days now. I’m trying to make a point to be aware of negativity and make sure to shut it down as soon as possible and not let it get into my mind. It can be hard sometimes to do that. Today though I am feeling fantastic and very grateful.

Training: It seems like I did a lot of work today, but it felt good so I think it’s fine. I started with 20 minutes of ROMWOD and then went for a 1 mile run. I pushed a little bit on the run. Not a bad pace at all and felt pretty good. After the 9am Saturday class at Olive Branch CrossFit I did a WoD with my daughter. That was fun. It was a workout that a couple of my friends at Training Think Tank came up with in memory of our friend Chris Moore. They called it Sluggo.

With a timecap of 18 minutes:

4 Rounds

  • 6 Hand Release Deadlifts
  • 12 Kettlebell Snatches/Arm
  • 18 Wall Balls
  • 48′ Handstand Walk

I scaled it WAY down. I did a 95 lb. Deadlift, an 8 lb. dumbbell snatch, used a basketball for my wallballs and did bear crawls instead of handstands. Here’s what it looked like, kinda:

Even though I scaled it way down, it felt REALLY good to do a real workout and it was fun to workout with my daughter. She’s a beast. She did 175 lbs deadlifts and handstand holds and finished in around 17 minutes.

Enjoy your weekend, I know I will enjoy mine.
